Special call for papers

Dear friends of algebraic statistics:

The Journal of Algebraic Statistics is inviting submissions for its special volume in memory of Stephen E. Fienberg. The volume will honor Steve’s contributions to and support of the field of algebraic statistics from the early days.

This is a general call for papers for the volume. The scope of the volume will be broad, but will certainly include papers on the topic of categorical data analysis.  Novel contributions as well as review papers are welcome.

Submitted papers will be refereed, as usual, per the standards of the Journal.

If you are interested in submitting a paper to the volume, please send the following information no later than January 31st to sonja.petrovic@iit.edu and ryoshida@nps.edu:

  • Author(s);

  • Tentative title;

  • Abstract draft (to give us an idea of the topic focus of your paper);

  • Whether it is a review paper or a new contribution.

The submission deadline and publication date will be settled in the near future, and the number of issues published will be determined based on interest.

Once we receive information from interested contributors, we will determine the submission and publication schedule. Tentatively, papers will be due around August 2017 timeframe and aimed to be published around the end of 2017. If there is more than one issue, we will adjust this timeline. Any special volume guest editors will also be announced at that time.
